For anyone who has ever played the video game ‘Fallout’ you will be aware of the perils of looking for something to drink in a post-apocalyptic and retro-futuristic setting, in the aftermath of a global nuclear war in an alternate history timeline mid-22nd century, tasked finding the Water Chip to save other dwellers from water shortage.

It’ a savage and violent place, and a killing zone, so if you don’t want to see anything too gruesome, like a head exploding from a sniper bullet in slow mo, then look away now. Because that’s exactly what happens in this video which sees FX channel Corridor team up with The Slow-Mo Guys for a Fallout fan film.

The short is a live-action FX-laden rendering of video game series Fallout which sees a vault dweller (Gavin from Slow Mo Guys) with a sniper rifle taking out fellow survivors in slow-motion. All over a bottle of Nuka-Cola.

It put’s a whole new meaning on ‘dying for a drink.’

To get the look right, they all headed out to Mormon Rocks in southern California for their post-apocalyptic wasteland—although as they note, making a video in the desert is very hard indeed.

But worth it, because as Gavin gets increasingly thirsty he gets more brutal and relentless with his kills. Kills that see arms and heads splat in all directions, all in super slow motion. In the end though our vault dweller Gavin is outdone—by a dog.

If you want to see how they did it, check out the behind the scenes below.
