Get ready for Kissenger the revolutionary Kissing App from the people at Imagineering Lab in the UK that allows you to ‘connect’ with your loved one on via the internet on your smartphone. Everyone knows long distance relationships can be hard because, well, there’s a large distance between you, especially the physical side.

But now technology has made sure that expanse of space can be overcome, to some degree at last, thanks to Skyping or messaging. However, what it doesn’t allow you to do is smooch, in a sensual way anyway.

Well thanks to the efforts of pushing science and technology to it’s limits there is now a new prototype gadget, an invention of the Imagineering Lab at City University London, could be about to change all that. The sensory stimulating technology, called ‘Kissenger’, is billing itself as the “world’s first mobile kiss messenger.”

How People Will Use The Kissenger Kissing App

Kissenger The Kissing App.

You’ll need the ‘Kissenger app’ and a rather bulky and creepy-looking attachment that goes on your smartphone and your long distance partner has to put the same attachment on theirs. By kissing the pad it activates special pressure sensors and simulates the act of smooching which can be felt by the person at the other end.

“Plug in to your phone and give your loved ones a kiss over the Internet.” says the app’s website. “Kissenger can sense your kiss and transmit realistic kissing sensations to your partner in real time. You can also feel the force on your lips when your partner kisses you back. Share an intimate moment using Kissenger with your friends and families while chatting with them on your phone.”

Kissenger works by using high precision force sensors which are embedded under a silicon lip—these measure the forces of the various parts of your lips when you kiss it. That data is then sent to your phone and it’s sent via the internet to the recipient. Miniature linear actuators then recreate the force of your kiss on your partner’s lips via their silicon pad, and so giving you a simulated long distance kiss thanks to technology.

When Can We Get Our Lips On The Kissenger?

There’s still work to be done yet on the Kissenger app before it comes out of its prototype phase. For one the pad itself isn’t lip-shaped so you don’t feel like you’re kissing lips which must kill the vibe a bit, and sadly you can’t use tongues, not yet anyway.

But it’s not just for lovers either, it’s also meant for families and parents who can give their kids a kiss on the cheek if they’re away from home. And also for fans and celebs “to connect idols and their fans from all around the world.” Not sure how the idols will feel about that one though, might be a little bit creepy. Just a teeny bit.

Along with this the team behind the Kissenger app plan to next install a scent-based component in the device so that you can even smell your long distance beau when you want to kiss. It might sound strange now, but wait until you’re living on Mars and it’s the nearest to contact with your loved ones you’ll get for months on end.

Just think about it, in 1969 man walked on the moon. Now in 2017 we have a kissing app.
