A group of GIF makers from Imgur and Reddit dedicated 200 collective hours of their lives to visually remixing the video for Taylor’s Swift’s “Shake It Off”—and as you’ll see from the resulting video and GIFs, it was certainly worth the time.

Originally a shout went out to the High Quality GIFs subreddit for people who might want to get involved in the project. The expected response was probably four or five people would want to go do it, but 17 people ended up working on it in their free time.

So they chopped the video into sections and each person got a segment. As for what they were allowed to do? Full creative freedom was given, with the only rule that they had to stick within the time frame of the clip.

It seems they really cut loose, and the results are amazing—and hilarious. The visual jokes and memes packed into each clip include everything from the cast of Rick And Morty ballet dancing, Futurama extras nodding their heads to breakdancing, plus cameos from John Travolta, Miley Cyrus, Dave Chappelle, Jim Carrey, Bill Murray, along with Deadpool, the Hulk—it really is quite something.

You can watch the full video above with sound. And if you want a side-by-side comparison with the original music video watch this version. While over on Imgur you can check out the individual GIFs here.

A couple of which are below.

As someone says in the comments “We need one of these for Bohemian Rhapsody.” I’d go further, we need one of these for every music video ever.
