Some of the most recognizable faces on the planet get a mathematical makeover in designer Igor Kochmala‘s Fibonacci Sequence-inspired series Dr. Fibonazi’s Plastic Surgery Clinic.

The series uses the to warp the faces of celebrities like Jack Nicholson, Nicolas Cage, and Bryan Cranston using the Golden Ratio, a special number found by dividing a line into two parts so that the longer part divided by the smaller part is also equal to the whole length divided by the longer part.

It is often symbolized using phi, after the 21st letter of the Greek alphabet (and who says you don’t get educated browsing the internet).

The exponential pattern is found in nature from plants to weather cycles and the structures of galaxies. In nature it produces stunning results of mathematical and aesthetic perfection, the same can’t really be said for these celebrity makeovers—although they are striking.

And, well, slightly odd too, as you’ll see from the distorted, Cubist forms that the Golden Ratio makes of these Hollywood icons.

The strange though it that Nicolas Cage doesn’t look that different, even though his facial features have been completely rearranged, i’m sure this image will grace the halls of the One True God page on Reddit.
