Is this the cutest place on the planet or what? Can you imagine a villge where adorable foxes live and welcome you into their community with friendly faces, well behaved manners and an interest in any food you might have on you. Well it exists and you can go visit and say ‘hello’ anytime you want to.

It sounds like something out of a Hayao Miyazaki film, so it’s fitting that the Zao Fox Village is located in the mountain region of the Miyagi prefecture in Japan. In this very unusual village six different types of foxes live, waiting for you to come along and hang out with.

They can’t talk, because this isn’t actually a Hayao Miyazaki animation, but for an entrance fee of under a dollar you’re given food, which you can use to get their attention and coo over. The animals that call the village their home include the silver fox, the platinum fox, and the Japanese red fox.

Although the sanctuary’s residents are adorable and cute to look at, visitors are advised against petting or hand-feeding them, because these are wild animals.

But you can take some awesome photos, as you’ll see below.
